Savoy Super Six, Sunday 16oct2022

We are pleased to welcome the ‘Savoy Super Six’ and bring the fabulous memory of Barry Palser’s music again. So come this Sunday, 16th October 2022 at the usual time of between 2:00pm and 5:00pm, to say ‘Hi’ to them.

Barry Palser’s Super Six, 12th February 2016

As most of you know, when we lost our gentle giant – Barry, it was the awesome trumpeter, Peter Rudeforth, who kindly stepped in as band leader. The Super Five again joining him will be Tim Huskisson on his cool clarinet. It was Colin Graham, who replaced Barry as trombonist – such a nigh-impossible job, but Colin manages it with such feeling. Also, John Stewart will again be on banjo/guitar – we always love to see him, he has played with Keith on and off for about 40years. Unfortunately, Andy Lawrence is not quite recovered from back probs, but we are hoping to have the talent of Murray Salmon on double bass, to take his place, plus John Tyson will ‘light up’ those drums for us.

Please turn up and make the place ‘rock’ – yep – I mean ‘rock with tapping feet to Savoy Boys’ jazz’ – as I know these fellas do.
