GEORGE \u2018KID\u2019 TIDIMAN\u2019S ALL STARS<\/span> will be our band tomorrow, Friday, 29th<\/sup> NOVEMBER 2019. \u00a0 The guys in the band are (obviously) \u2018Kid\u2019 GEORGE<\/span> on trombone and with him will be PETER LEONARD<\/span> on trumpet and ALAN CRESSWELL<\/span> on clarinet & sax.\u00a0 \u00a0Then we have our engine boys, JOHN SIRET<\/span> on double bass, \u2018SOUTHEND BOB\u2019 ALBUTT<\/span> is on banjo & vocals, plus again, KEITH GRANT<\/span> playing drums.\u00a0 Bill Finch is still not quite well enough to make the journey (hope you are feeling better soon Bill \u2013 Farnborough wishes you well).\u00a0 We endeavour to bring you great music at our club, but we do need punters to enjoy themselves.\u00a0 So where are you all lately, the club needs you. (sounds like ‘Your Country Needs You’ ha.) \u00a0 Diane and Keith \u2013 your hosts. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

HERE IS AN URGENT MESSAGE<\/span>: Unfortunately, the ‘Jazz Guide Magazine’ have advertised the band appearing in the week before the Christmas party (Friday 13th<\/sup> December 2019<\/span>) as being Mike Barry\u2019s band, which is incorrect.\u00a0 It is definitely BARRY PULSER\u2019S SUPER SIX<\/span>. They have it correct in the magazine\u2019s website, but not their magazine, quite a conundrum!\u00a0 As many of you know, Barry<\/span> has had a stroke, so we don\u2019t want him (or the band) to worry, IT WILL BE BARRY PALSER\u2019S BAND<\/span>. We all wish (& \u2018will\u2019) both Bridget<\/span> (who has also had an operation) and Barry<\/span> both, a speedy recovery, we want Barry<\/span> to get well enough for him to return to playing here again as soon as possible.<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

ALSO, as you will see, we all make mistakes!\u00a0\u00a0 Unfortunately, I failed to add our Christmas Party entrance fee<\/span> in both Just Jazz and Jazz Guide magazines, thereby it seems to appear as \u00a310.\u00a0 I must apologise, but the Christmas party is \u00a315<\/span>, to allow us to pay a better fee to whoever is playing (this year is ‘MARDI GRAS JAZZBAND’<\/span>). Obviously, jazz bands have never received a much-deserved fee as bands obtain in other genres of music.\u00a0 In a very small way, Christmas is a time when everyone can show their appreciation.\u00a0 Bands can earn far more if they played for Corporate Companies\u2019 Christmas parties, but love to see your smiling faces. \u00a0At this point, can I ask you to reserve a booking before-hand, if possible, please.
