\"\"<\/a><\/span> \u2018BENNY GOODMAN REMEMBERED\u2019 –<\/span><\/span><\/span> returns for a 2nd<\/sup> appearance here at our<\/span> FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB, Kent this Friday,<\/span> 13<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> September 2019.\u00a0 Last March was the band’s debut and as it was so successful, we have been requested to repeat the evening.<\/span> TIM HUSKISSON will again play clarinet as <\/span>BENNY GOODMAN, band leader,<\/span> with<\/span> COLIN BRAY playing vibraphone, as<\/span> LIONEL HAMPTON and<\/span> ALAN BERRY playing piano, as<\/span> TEDDY WILSON. \u00a0Also<\/span> ROGER CURPHEY will be playing double bass, as<\/span> SLAM STEWART, plus<\/span> KEITH GRANT playing drums, as<\/span> GENE KRUPA and (singing just a few songs – from bottle-fed brunette)<\/span> DIANE GRANT singing as (actual blonde)<\/span> PEGGY LEE (I know \u2013 try closing your eyes) \u2026. As I said last time, although I\u2019m nervous, I\u2019m so excited to be singing with these brilliant musicians. I have only sung on a few occasions at the club because you do have to pay to come in, however – sorry, you still have to pay but only \u00a310 for these fine musicians – hmmm.\u00a0 Doors will be open from 7:00pm, with music starting about 8:00pm, finishing at 11:00pm.\u00a0 Come early, as last time we had a full house.\u00a0 For certain, we will have a fantastic atmosphere \u2013 we always do.\u00a0 We enjoy dancing, we have a Shepherd Neame<\/span> bar (served by Kath<\/span> and Barb<\/span>). We also have plenty of off-road parking. I think Jackie, John and possibly<\/span> Len<\/span> will be helping me at the door to greet you. Diane & Keith<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
