{"id":5654,"date":"2018-12-20T21:01:57","date_gmt":"2018-12-20T21:01:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/?p=5654"},"modified":"2018-12-22T12:27:19","modified_gmt":"2018-12-22T12:27:19","slug":"barry-palsors-super-six-21st-december-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/?p=5654","title":{"rendered":"Update of  Barry Palser&#8217;s Super Six, 21st December 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"color:#1f9821\" class=\"has-text-color\"><strong>Keith came home late last night from the party , as he puts it, &#8216;happy&#8217;, telling me (as I was sure would be the case), you all came out of the woodwork.\u00a0 Thank you for making it such a successful evening.\u00a0 I am sad to have missed everyone.\u00a0 (Keith left home starting to feel &#8216;sneezy&#8217; but his\u00a0 &#8216;doc&#8217; came from behind the bar, served by Cath &amp; Babs) ,\u00a0 He told me you all made an effort with your food and candelabras &#8211; some dressing up in &#8216;gnome&#8217; outfits.\u00a0 I hear Barry announced after the session they had played so many Christmas Carols, but neglected to play &#8216;Shingle Bells&#8217;. \u00a0 I was so &#8216;grumpy&#8217; to have missed it all.\u00a0  Keith&#8217;s remark to me was the evening was so successful, that he is going to put up a Christmas tree every week &#8211; he&#8217;s not &#8216;bashful&#8217; about it &#8211; ha ha (or should that be ho ho ho).\u00a0 He was &#8216;sleepy&#8217; and so I had to wait for this morning to hear the rest. So now, I must wish you all a &#8216;Merry&#8217; Christmas and a very Healthy New Year. \u00a0 (pics to follow curtesy of Mike and Alan and anyone else who wants to pass some onto me &#8211; thanks). \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Luv (as my brother-in-law calls me) &#8216;Dopey&#8217; Di xxx <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We have booked \u2018BARRY PALSER\u2019S SUPER SIX\u2019 for your entertainment at our 2018 CHRISTMASPARTY, tomorrow &#8211; Friday 21<sup>st<\/sup> December, here at our FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB (Kent).\u00a0 Yes, what a line-up Barry has in store for you too.\u00a0 He has non-other than PETE RUDEFORTH playing trumpet,\u00a0TIM HUSKISSON on reeds,\u00a0BARRY himself plays trombone,\u00a0with ANDY LAWRENCE on bass, JOHN TYSON on drums and JIM DOUGLAS on banjo. \u00a0\u00a0I\u2019d call that \u2018BARRY\u2019S ABSOLUTELY SUPER SIX\u2019. \u00a0Oh! \u00a0I am so fed up, because for the second week running, I am unlikely to be there\u00a0 to enjoy myself with you.\u00a0 As I said last week, I have shingles and although I have been told by the Doctors, shingles is not contagious, I&#8217;m still feeling rough.\u00a0 Anyway, the charge to come to this always enjoyable party event, is only \u00a315.\u00a0 You can enjoy plenty of dancing, a Shepherd Neame \u2018club price\u2019 bar and bring your own food and candelabras,\u00a0 There is plenty of free parking AND you wont have to pay a forfeit at the door!
