The MARTYN BROTHERS JAZZ BAND\u00a0<\/strong>will be charging the air again at our FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB <\/strong>on Friday, 22nd<\/sup> June 2018<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0BEN MARTYN<\/strong> (<\/strong>double bass &vocals) had booked Alan Grestie<\/strong> to play, but poor Alan was taken ill and hospitalised with a serious flu bug this week, so Ben has booked one of my favourites, ROB PEARCE<\/strong> on trombone.\u00a0 A bit of a different sound, liken to The Louisiana Five Jazz Band<\/strong> of the 1920\u2019s (only the second band to ever record their music) – should be a great evening.\u00a0 Rob<\/strong>, just like Ben, travels frequently back and forth to New Orleans<\/strong>, so sure to give his all.\u00a0 They will be joined by RICHIE HOWARD <\/strong>(clarinet), DEAN ROSS <\/strong>(piano) [sorry no photo of Dean as yet], JOHN \u2018flashback radio\u2019 RUSCOE<\/strong> (guitar) and DOM COLES<\/strong> (drums).\u00a0 They are very popular in central London clubs and show their versatility, although certainly play the real New Orleans<\/strong> traditional style jazz for us here. \u00a0Regulars and newcomers, come and see what fabulous young musicians they are and enjoy a couple of Shepherd Neame pints at the same time, soaking in the atmosphere. \u00a0The music is from 8:00pm till 11:00pm (plenty of free parking).\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

P.S. \u20184-In-A-Bar+1\u2019 are performing at Ye Olde Whyte Lyon, Locks Bottom this Sunday, 24 June 2018, from 3:00 till 6:00pm (see special \u2018Page\u2019 at top of our website about it).\u00a0 An excellent venue, where appetising Sunday roasts can be enjoyed, whilst being entertained with dinner jazz.\u00a0 This month, Tim is unable to play for us, as he has a charity gig he does every year.\u00a0 But we have an equally talented guest pianist, Alan Berry.\u00a0 You have got to come to listen to us, we really are good.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Remember three weeks ago, we were booked for a lovely couple\u2019s (Donna and Kenny) wonderful wedding at Leeds Castle (Kent). \u00a0Their wedding was just as expected, so beautiful.\u00a0 I was very proud of \u2018my boys\u2019, they certainly were the business. \u00a0They looked very elegant too, in their DJ\u2019s AND I don\u2019t remember making any faux pars with my singing either.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
