I<\/span>t\u2019s FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB (Kent) <\/span>calling and YIPPEE \u2013 WE ARE OPEN TONIGHT, Friday, 9th<\/sup> March 2018<\/span> and it\u2019s with MIKE BARRY\u2019S UPTOWN GANG.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh dear, I have just heard MIKE<\/span> has had a nasty fall, badly hurting his knee and sadly will not be with us tonight.\u00a0 However, he has got hold of band leader &trumpeter DAVE RANCE <\/span>to take his place.\u00a0 Dave<\/span> will have the usual UPTOWN GANG<\/span>, namely TIM HUSKISSON <\/span>on reeds, \u2018WHISPERING\u2019 MIKE HOLT <\/span><\/span>on trombone (who also sings), JOHN STUART <\/span>on banjo & guitar, ROGER CURPHY <\/span>on double bass and GRAHAM COLLICOTT <\/span>on drums.\u00a0 Thank goodness that very cold spell looks like it has gone and Spring is on its way \u2013 those lovely little flowers are appearing.\u00a0 Don\u2019t you just love this time of year, when we have something to look forward to.\u00a0 Sorry about cancelling last week, but we have only had to do so twice in nearly 30years <\/span>(always due to extreme bad weather), not bad aye!\u00a0 Let\u2019s hope we don\u2019t have to resort to that again this year.\u00a0 Anyway, we\u2019re sure you will all be back feeling hungry for some jazz and Dave, with Mike\u2019s band, is just what you (and I) need.\u00a0 Hey, \u2018live\u2019 jazz is what we offer, so get down here (or up, depending on where you live!) and join us for that fix.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
