{"id":5079,"date":"2018-02-28T17:27:43","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T17:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/?p=5079"},"modified":"2018-02-28T17:27:43","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T17:27:43","slug":"cancelled-lord-napier-hot-shots-friday-2nd-march-2018-cancelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/?p=5079","title":{"rendered":"CANCELLED \u2018Lord Napier Hot Shots\u2019, Friday, 2nd March 2018 CANCELLED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>\u2018LORD NAPIER HOT SHOTS\u2019<\/strong><\/span> have kindly agreed to cancel their gig here at <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>FARNBOROUGH JAZZ<\/strong> <strong>CLUB<\/strong><\/span> this<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong> Friday, 2nd March 2018<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0The musicians were to have been <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>MIKE JACKSON<\/strong><\/span> on trumpet, <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>PAT GLOVER<\/strong><\/span> on clarinet, <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>MIKE DUCKWORTH<\/strong><\/span> on trombone, <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>LYNN SAUNDERS<\/strong><\/span> on banjo, <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>BILL TRAXLER<\/strong><\/span> on drums and <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>PETE CLANCY<\/strong><\/span> on double bass.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A reluctant decision has been made!\u00a0 We feel it would be sensible to cancel this Friday\u2019s Jazz.\u00a0 There are too many of you \u2018gung-ho\u2019 jazz lovers, who would make the effort to support us and we would be putting you all in danger of falling over, as the situation is today, let alone on Friday.\u00a0 This also includes Bill, with his drums, plus whoever brings the sound equipment &#8211; not easy in icy conditions.\u00a0 But with the forecast being blizzards, it could be impossible to get into the clubhouse anyway.\u00a0 So this way, it will be less stressful for me to get in touch with you all &#8211; I have a few days to make the many phone calls to those of you who are not on a computer!\u00a0 It is a difficult job, as some of you who don\u2019t come very often, just might decide to come this Friday.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Well, what a wicked situation.\u00a0 The weather forecast has been horrible for Friday &#8211; blizzards, etc., forecasted!\u00a0 What upsets me is the mere fact that we cancelled the whole of January, in case of such an event, but had absolutely no sign of bad weather at all.\u00a0 We had planned on visiting Dick and Sheila at Sidcup Jazz club, only to find they were closed for the whole month too, due to renovations.\u00a0 What do they call it \u2013 sod\u2019s law!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hopefully we can look forward to better weather the following Friday, 9th March 2018.\u00a0 We have <strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Mike Barry\u2019s Uptown Gang<\/span>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Diane &amp; Keith<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018LORD NAPIER HOT SHOTS\u2019 have kindly agreed to cancel their gig here at FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB this Friday, 2nd March 2018. \u00a0The musicians were to have been MIKE JACKSON on trumpet, PAT GLOVER on clarinet, MIKE DUCKWORTH on trombone, LYNN SAUNDERS on banjo, BILL TRAXLER on drums and PETE CLANCY on double bass.
