It\u2019s our Christmas Party at the FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB, here in Kent again and the date is FRIDAY 22ND DECEMBER 2017 (\u00a315 entrance on the night).\u00a0 We have our old favourites, DAVE <\/span><\/span>STRADWICK\u2019S SUSSEX JAZZ KINGS to play for<\/span> u<\/span>s.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong> Trumpet player & vocalist, DAVE (as most of you know) has been so unwell, but after treatment, was still hoping to get along to do this gig,<\/span> Now the silly man has fallen<\/span> over and broken his hip, so will not be joining us (Oh Dave, how could you do that to us! Really!)\u00a0 Anyway, he has his usual band members all holding the fort, being BERNARD\u00a0STUTT on clarinet,\u00a0IAIN<\/span> McAUALAY on trombone, PETE LAY on drums, PETER CLANCY on bass and KEVIN SCOTT on banjo, guitar &vocals!\u00a0 Dave has replaced himself with TONY KARAVIS who will carry the<\/span> torch – well a trumpet looks a bit like a torch, doesn\u2019t it.\u00a0 Of course, it\u2019s not Dave I\u2019m worried about, it\u2019s Leslie !!!!!!<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hey, at the party, you can bring your own food – and candelabras if you want. \u00a0Also, It is to be<\/span> fancy dress, (optional).\u00a0 If you want to, but can\u2019t think what to dress up in, I have suggested you<\/span> could all come as Groucho Marx \u2013 black <\/strong>trousers, a moustache, a pretend cigar and you<\/strong><\/span> could write down a couple of one liners you might like to say to fellow partygoers!\u00a0 Of course<\/span> the jazz will be the main thing, the lads will do us proud, I\u2019m sure. \u00a0All are welcome, but if you can<\/span> let us know you\u2019re coming beforehand, it will help to make the evening go smoothly (01689-<\/span>603299).\u00a0 Thanks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, let\u2019s all think positive thoughts and send some good wishes winging their<\/span> way towards Dave\u2019s direction (Horsham) for a speedy recovery & a happy Christmas to<\/span> him & Leslie, they could do with a bit of luck wished them right now.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Plus CHRISTMAS EVE – don\u2019t forget our Sunday gig too<\/span>, \u20184-IN-A-BAR+1\u2019.\u00a0 We play lovely \u2018Smooth Dinner Jazz\u2019 (you know all the old standards) <\/span>at <\/span>YE OLDE WHYTE LYON, LOCKS<\/span> BOTTOM, Kent this SUNDAY, 24TH DECEMBER 2017, 3:00PM-6:00PM, \u00a0The musicians are\u00a0 JOHN LEE\u00a0(tenor), TIM HUSKISSON\u00a0(piano), ROGER CURPHEY\u00a0(double bass), with\u00a0<\/span>KEITH<\/span> GRANT\u00a0(drums) and DIANE, singing\u00a0a few\u00a0songs.\u00a0 (usually the last Sunday of each month).\u00a0 Treat yourself and book a\u00a0roast lunch (Tel: 01689-852631) served between 12:00\u00a0& 5:00pm.<\/span> \u00a0Last time everyone loved the music, with many enjoying Sunday roast.
