8th SEPTEMBER 2017<\/strong> <\/span>at FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> <\/strong>we have a special sextet, with excellent reed playing band leader, <\/strong>GOFF (hot)\u00a0DUBBER<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> Goff <\/strong>includes in his band, Chris Barber\u2019s<\/strong> trumpeter, <\/strong>PETE (ice-cream) RUDEFORTH<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> <\/strong>with MIKE (the voice)\u00a0HOGH<\/strong> <\/span>on trombone, plus\u00a0JONATHAN (JJ himself)\u00a0VINTEN<\/strong><\/span> on piano., not forgetting \u00a0<\/strong>ROGER (the hat)\u00a0CURPHEY<\/strong><\/span> on double bass and\u00a0 MARTIN \u00a0(swinger) GUY<\/strong> <\/span>on drums.\u00a0 Certainly another great line-up for you, you lucky people.\u00a0 In Mike\u2019s own words, \u201cBelying its name, the band doesn’t play just Dixieland jazz\u00a0– our repertoire stretches from New Orleans through swing, urban blues,\u00a0and mainstream and also includes our arrangements of compositions by some of the more modern jazz greats such as Ellington, Mingus, etc.\u00a0 The idea behind the band’s name is that our\u00a0concerts take the form of a musical ‘whistle stop’ journey through a wide spectrum of jazz styles<\/em>\u201d<\/span>.\u00a0 So with all that in mind, get yourselves out of you armchair and come and join us, to soak in some fabulous music played by some fabulous top, top of the range musicians. We have an 8:00pm start.\u00a0 Let me mention plenty of free parking, a great Shepherd Neame bar and really good fun people you can join, to enjoy it with.<\/p>\n
