The FARNBOROUGH\u00a0JAZZ CLUB<\/strong><\/span> will be entertained by the young MARTYN BROTHERS JAZZ BAND<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0tonight, Friday, 30th June 2017<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0Brothers,\u00a0BEN MARTYN<\/strong><\/span> (who plays double bass and sings) and\u00a0EMILE MARTYN<\/strong><\/span> (who plays drums) are sons of the famous drummer and band leader Barry Martyn. \u00a0The boys often visit their Dad, who now lives in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

Having mislaid my mobile, I am not sure who is booked to play for us tonight.\u00a0\u00a0Will it be the same as last time when we had that giant trumpeter, PETE RUDEFORTH<\/strong><\/span>?<\/strong>\u00a0Also, will it be\u00a0RICHIE HOWARD<\/strong><\/span> on clarinet, IAN BEETLESTONE<\/strong> <\/span>on piano and JOHN \u2018flashback radio\u2019 RUSCOE<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0on guitar? \u00a0Please get your butts down here and find out WHO WILL<\/strong> be entertaining us. \u00a0Come and enjoy listening or dancing to whoever, you surely love a surprise sometimes aye!\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t been here before, everyone is welcome.\u00a0 Music is from 8:00pm till 11:00pm. .<\/p>\n

P.S.\u00a0 I have just been told (thanks Steve), literally two minute ago, some pretty horrible and unbelievable news.\u00a0 The wonderful venue, loved by so many, namely The Lord Napier, is no longer.\u00a0 It has the builders in, knocking it down.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it is the first I have heard of the possibility.\u00a0 I am so disappointed to have been told too late,\u00a0 Especially now\u00a0being unable\u00a0to do anything about it, not that I’m sure I could have.\u00a0 It’s just that\u00a0I feel so helpless.\u00a0 I will return at a later date to write a little something\u00a0about this wonderful pub.\u00a0 So many lovely musicians have performed there, including Keith.\u00a0 They must all be devastated.\u00a0\u00a0 Signed a saddened Diane.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
