The PHOENIX DIXIELAND JAZZ BAND<\/strong> <\/span>consists of a lovely lot of musicians for your enjoyment, namely super talented guest star\u00a0<\/strong>MIKE COTTON<\/strong> <\/span>on trumpet, with sweet playing CHARLES SHERWOOD<\/strong> <\/span>on clarinet and brill\u00a0BILL TODD<\/strong> <\/span>on trombone & vocals, with fabulous drumming man\u00a0ALLAN CLARKE<\/strong><\/span><\/span>, plus our\u00a0super-duper \u00a0<\/strong>DAVE BARNES<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>on piano & vocals,\u00a0with ROGER CURPHEY<\/strong> <\/span>– I\u2019m not going to say too much about him – he will only get to big for his boots, but he plays double bass and\u00a0hey I suppose that goes for our big\u00a0JOHN STEWART<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 too, he\u2019s on banjo & guitar.\u00a0 Anyway, we have them here again at the FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB<\/span><\/strong> this Friday 5th<\/sup> May 2017<\/span><\/strong>, so make your way here without fail for this great seven-piece jazz band.\u00a0 By the by, so sorry I left half-way through last week\u2019s fabulous band from Holland.\u00a0 It was horrible to hear how absolutely great they were throughout and to have missed out, especially the drum solo. I knew we were to be given that treat.\u00a0 However, this week, Allan will be terrific too on Friday, he is an amazing drummer as well.\u00a0 He is a fine teacher (see attached, Allan playing \u2018Take Five\u2019 \u2013 accompanied by a beautifully elegant\u00a0Linda King on piano). \u00a0Thanks to everybody for taking my place, dealing with the raffle tickets \u2013 Steve and Susan on the \u2018mike\u2019. \u00a0I don\u2019t know exactly what was wrong with me last Friday, just felt very ill, but thanks for the many phone calls\/texts enquiring after me and will see you all this Friday.<\/p>\n

And certainly with\u00a0‘Live’ music, without a doubt<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
