STORYVILLE JASSBAND from HOLLAND<\/strong><\/span>,<\/strong> who gave us a wonderful evening back in August 2015<\/strong> <\/span>are on tour and back here again this FRIDAY, 28th<\/sup> APRIL 2017<\/strong> <\/span>at our FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB<\/strong><\/span>. <\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The band members are MICHEL MULLER<\/strong> <\/span>(trumpet\/vocals), HENK VAN DE VEN<\/strong> <\/span>(clarinet), PETER DOBBE<\/strong> <\/span>(trombone\/ guitar\/vocals), HENK VAN MULLIGEN<\/strong> <\/span>(banjo), HEIN VAN ROOIJEN<\/strong><\/span> (double bass) and STEF GEURTS<\/strong> <\/span>(drums).\u00a0 It will be Michel\u2019s first time of playing here at Farnborough, but Stef was here before with the Limehouse Jazz Band back in 2014.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to seeing them again, if you read my newsletter about their evening here in August 2015, you will see I tell of them bringing the \u2018house down\u2019.\u00a0 I said how their band leader for 40years, Ruud Nieuwenhuijzen, was ill with ALS (cannot eat or speak, except through a computer).\u00a0 He was in the audience with his wife and friends.\u00a0 I am so extremely saddened to learn that he died in July 2016.\u00a0 So I should like you all to join us on Friday to give the band a happy welcome and let them know we intend to give them a good time!<\/p>\n
