Pieces, 8th July 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was\u00a0lovely to have <span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><strong>BOB DWYER\u2019S BIX &amp; PIECES<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (a seven-piece band) <\/span><\/span>back at our<strong><span style=\"color: #c709ac;\"> FARNBOROUGH JAZZ CLUB<span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 They were here\u00a0on <span style=\"color: #c709ac;\">\u00a0<strong>Friday, 8th July 2016<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 Leader &amp;\u00a0trombonist <span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><strong>BOB,<\/strong> <\/span>had booked\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><strong>BERNIE HOLDEN<\/strong> <\/span>on clarinet &amp; alto sax, <strong><span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\">HUGH CROZIER<\/span> <\/strong>on piano &amp; vocals, <span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><strong>JOHN BAYNE<\/strong> <\/span>on double bass &amp; bass sax and <span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><strong>DAVE PRICE <\/strong><\/span>on banjo &amp; guitar.\u00a0 He also had\u00a0a couple of guests joining them, namely\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\">CHEZ CHESTERMAN<\/span> <\/strong>on trumpet and <strong><span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\">GRAHAM CAULICOTTE<\/span> <\/strong>on drums.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I had a back problem and so Keith had to go without me to sort out the club \u2026 no red table cloths, no refreshments for the band \u2013 well that\u2019s not true, they helped themselves and Keith had to kiss everybody (ha \u2013 not really).\u00a0 I eventually scrambled myself down to the club, I think about 9.00pm.\u00a0 However, I hadn\u2019t brought anything with me to write my notes, so I can\u2019t tell you what tunes they played.\u00a0 Although, I can say (after a couple of drinks) I did manage to dance a little (even if rather stiffly), that\u2019s the power of their playing.\u00a0 Oh, I must tell you of the youngster who was bought along by John (I think) and who had a few sit-ins with the band.\u00a0 His name is <span style=\"color: #3c9a00;\"><b>MIKE PRESTAGE<\/b><\/span> and he played a &#8216;mean&#8217; trumpet. \u00a0I think he will, or should have a brilliant musical career ahead of him (if he wants).\u00a0 I am sorry we have no photos again (still no Mike) and although I took some with my old mobile, I have been unable to transfer them to my laptop.\u00a0 Hopefully, I can get it to work at a later date.\u00a0 Anyway, Good ol\u2019 favourite\u2019s, \u2019Barry Palser\u2019s Super Six\u2019 are back this Friday (15th July), so see you all then.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #c709ac;\"><strong>Your \u2018Live\u2019 Jazz Hosts, <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #c709ac;\"><strong>Diane &amp;
