Photo by Jill Alexander.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was Andrew&#8217;s first time here, but\u00a0the rest have\u00a0all played here before with other bands.\u00a0 Peter\u00a0played here a long time ago, with George \u2018Kid\u2019 Tidiman\u2019s band.\u00a0 It was back in 2014 (4th April and 4th July 2014) and he remember it too &#8211; nice one.\u00a0 Paul was here for Keith\u2019s birthday in last August with \u2018Harry Strutters Hot Seven\u2019.\u00a0 The rest of the band you know well. \u00a0\u00a0I have to apologise too, for being so late with this newsletter, especially being their first time together. \u00a0I had mislaid my notes (well, it was Christmas time) to remind me of what they played and is no reflection on how they played.\u00a0 They certainly played some exciting jazz, great for dancing, as well as listening to \u2026 getting us in the festive spirit (that included my bah humbug, Keith ha). \u00a0Here goes to let you know what was played and my first choice of song is <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u2018Baby Wont You Please Come Home\u2019<\/em><\/span>, sung beautifully by Peter and everyone played well, with particular mention of Andrew.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4021\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Hershey-and-the-Hotshots-4dec2015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4021\" class=\" wp-image-4021\" src=\"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Hershey-and-the-Hotshots-4dec2015-176x300.jpg\" alt=\"'Hershey and the Hotshots' play for the first time at Farnborough Jazz Club on 4th December 2015. Photo by Jill Alexander.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Graham\u2019s partner, Jill (as promised) led us into some swinging line-dancing with their next tune, being the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u2018Charleston\u2019<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 I believe Jill was a dance teacher and she certainly got us going.\u00a0 As for the next one, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u2018Hyawatha Rag\u2019<\/em><\/span>, they were all brilliant and I particularly loved the excellent bit of trumpet and drumming duet from Peter and Graham in the middle.\u00a0 As already mentioned, it was Andrew\u2019s first time here and we all thoroughly enjoyed his playing especially to <em>\u2018<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Do I Want You (Indeed I Do)\u2019<\/span><\/em><em>.\u00a0 <\/em>Then I can remember the dance floor was highly used with everyone singing when they played <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u2018All Of Me\u2019<\/span>, a<\/em>s was too with the next number, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u2018Bye Bye Blackbird\u2019<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 We obviously love a song or two in the audience \u2013 ha).\u00a0\u00a0 Our photographer friend Mike was still away and luckily Jill Alexander and Peter Marr took\u00a0these photos of the band to make the evening.\u00a0 It certainly makes a difference to see some photos, even when the lighting isn&#8217;t so good (a bit atmospheric, don&#8217;t you agree?)\u00a0 Anyway, Keith had a sit-in next, whilst Graham had a dance with Jill (foxtrot I think).\u00a0 The tune being<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> \u2018<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">My September In The Rain\u2019<\/span>,<\/em> with Peter playing lovely muted trumpet and also singing.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4020\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Hershey-and-the-Hotshots-4dec2014-with-Keith.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4020\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4020\" src=\"https:\/\/farnboroughjazz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Hershey-and-the-Hotshots-4dec2014-with-Keith-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"'Hershey and the Hotshots' playing for the first time at Farnborough Jazz Club on 4th December 2015.
