BATTLE<\/span> OF<\/span> BRITAIN<\/span> ANNIVERSARY-<\/span> Art<\/span> & Jazz<\/span> FARNBOROUGH<\/span> JAZZ CLUB<\/span> 16th<\/sup> <\/span>September<\/span> 2016.\u00a0 CELEBRATING BIGGIN<\/span> HILL\u2019S<\/span> PART IN THE<\/span> BATTLE.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We are celebrating this year\u2019s \u2018BATTLE<\/span> OF<\/span> BRITAIN\u2019<\/span> ANNIVERSARY<\/span> with an art exhibition to show Keith\u2019s Grant’s <\/span>\u00a0Spitfire<\/span> and jazz watercolour paintings<\/span>, plus\u00a0a special fun jazz band called\u00a0\u2018THE FENNY<\/span> STOMPERS<\/span> JAZZ<\/span> BAND<\/span>.\u00a0 This is all happening here at \u00a0FARNBOROUGH<\/span> JAZZ<\/span> CLUB<\/span>, Kent. \u00a0It’s a fancy dress (optional of course) party.\u00a0 The band intend giving you plenty of entertainment with a\u00a01940’s flavour and\u00a0are (leader) DENNIS VIC <\/span>on clarinet, DAVE MARCHANT <\/span>(not our Dave) on trumpet, JOHN LEE <\/span>(not our John) on trombone, BRIAN VIC <\/span>(Dennis’ brother) on\u00a0banjo, DAVE ARNOLD <\/span>on double bass (& poss Sousaphone) and KEN JOINER <\/span>on drums.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget, we have plenty of dancing, plus a brolly parade, (bring yours).\u00a0 Also\u00a0great<\/b> bar staff, who serve SHEPHERD NEAME \u2018Spitfire\u2019 <\/span><\/span>(among other drinks of course, such as ‘Master Brew’<\/span>), plus we have plenty of free parking space.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t been here before, everyone is welcome. Music<\/span> is from<\/span> 8:00pm till 11:00pm<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing<\/span> like <\/span>jazz <\/span>and <\/span>art together,<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We also have a special date for you to enjoy<\/b> KEITH GRANT’S QUARTET,<\/span> 4-IN-A-BAR+1 <\/span>playing smooth jazz at YE OLDE WHYTE LYON <\/span>in Locks Bottom (Kent), which is on the A21, next door to Sainsbury\u2019s and THE PRU HOSPITAL.\u00a0 It will be held indoors (Publican Tim has decided not to take a chance with the weather, if it is fine the windows and patio \u00a0doors will be left wide open).\u00a0 (14 years old and over only). \u00a0Free Parking, plus overflow in Sainsbury\u2019s car park behind pub (free on Sundays) \u2013 park over far side and walk thru slip way to pub.\u00a0 They also have great bar staff, serving tasty\u00a0<\/strong>SHEPHERD NEAME\u2019s<\/strong> \u2018SPITFIRE\u2019 <\/strong><\/span>(among other drinks of course, such as <\/strong>\u2018Master Brew\u2019<\/strong><\/span>).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The quartet\u00a0has KEITH GRANT <\/span>on drums, JOHN LEE <\/span>(ours) on tenor sax, TIM HUSKISSON <\/span>on piano, TIM PHAROAH<\/span> <\/span>on double bass and the + 1 being me (Diane), <\/span>giving an occasional song \u2013 if you can stand it).<\/strong><\/p>\n
